  • Include fruits like mangoes, figs, blue berries, water melon and grapes which are rich in anti-oxidants

  • Include Vegetables which are cooked. Raw food increases Vata. Include plenty of fresh leafy green vegetables. The nutrients and fiber present in leafy vegetables nourishes the blood and skin. 

  • Include whole grains like quinoa, barley, amaranth, wheat and rye in diet. This will help the necessary nutrients and nourishes the skin. 

  • Include proteins in diet like milk, lassi, freshly made cheese, moong beans etc. 

  • Drink enough water and stay hydrated. 

  • Include spices like fennel, cumin, pepper, turmeric etc. in cooking

  • Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) - Another popular name of Gudichi is Amrita/Nectar. According to myth when gods churned the primordial ocean, an ambrosial nectar appeared which provides longevity to whoever consumes it called as Amrita. It contains bitter, pungent and astringent tastes. Guduchi balances all the three doshas specifically Pitta. Guduchi can also be used in the form of a paste and applied directly to chronic skin irritations, such as eczema and psoriasis.

  • Guggulu (Commiphora mukul) – This powerful and potent herb has anti-inflammatory properties and inhibit the growth of free radicals in the body. It contains bitter, pungent, astringent and sweet tastes. It balances Vata and Kapha without vitiating Pitta.

  • Amalaki (Indian Gooseberry) – It is an excellent source of Vitamin-C and antioxidants that help your body fight various diseases. Amalaki is one of the best rasayana herb mentioned in classical Ayurveda. This potent rejuvenating herb is a natural anti-oxidant. It can increase ojas and will balance Pitta.

  • Haridra (Turmeric)- The compound curcumin in Turmeric has shown to possess a powerful anti-ageing effect. It has anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants that help keep diseases at bay. It is bitter and pungent in taste. It pacifies Vitiated Pitta and Kapha

  • Aswagandha (Withania somnifera) - Ashwagandha helps in rapid cell regeneration and rejuvenation that in turn helps in delaying signs of ageing, especially pertaining to the skin. It balances vitiated Vata and Kapha. Ayurveda recognizes ashwagandha particularly for its building, strengthening, and nourishing nature.
