7 Tips to nourish your skin naturally


Do you know that skin is the outer reflection of your inner health? Flawless looking, glowing skin has always been a telltale sign for health. And there are some simple tips you can follow to achieve this flawless skin. 

  1. Drink lots of water. Your skin needs to be hydrated, and the first thing you ought to do if your skin is feeling dry is to ensure that you’re drinking adequate amount of water.

  2. As natural cleansers, you can use natural face masks for nourishing the skin. Mix one teaspoon of honey, one teaspoon of chickpea (besan) powder and 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric. Apply to the skin and let it sit for at least 20-25 minutes. Wash off with cold water.

  3. Sandalwood is cooling, helps with blackheads and improves the skin's complexion. It is one of the herbs mentioned in the Ayurveda fall seasonal regimen for anointing the body. Mix 1 tsp. Of sandalwood powder with coconut milk to form a paste and apply to the skin. After twenty minutes rinse with warm water.

  4. Eat healthily, Vegetables contain a plethora of vitamins necessary for healthy skin. Particularly helpful are leafy greens and red and orange vegetables, such as peppers which have an abundance of Vitamin A & C.

  5. Exercise or practice Yoga. Proper body movement ensures proper blood circulation and thereby keeps the skin nourished and healthy.

  6. A gentle hot water shower removes oils from your skin. It is often advised to use warm water rather than hot water.

  7. Not only an excess Pitta, uncontrolled stress can also make your skin more sensitive and trigger acne breakouts and other skin problems. Proper sleep and meditation can help manage your stress well.
