Samhain and the Taurus Blue Moon
The upcoming full moon in Taurus tomorrow October 31st in the Northern hemisphere is a very special event cosmically Every 28 days the sun and the moon come in full opposition with each other which allows the moon to shine fully. This full moon is in the sign of Taurus and the sun will be in the sign of Scorpio, very opposing energies. Taurus loves all things material, structured, pleasant and grounded whereas the Scorpio energy of water is transformational, indulging in the unknown, occult and the mystical. A interesting opposition of energies right on Halloween night. For the first time in 20 years we have a full moon on the day of Halloween and for the first time in almost 80 years we have this specific Taurus Blue moon which is the second Full moon within a single month.
Our bodies are in sync with the universal rhythms.
Full moons are more about releasing and then setting intentions to usher in the new. As the moon waxes until its final full bloom, we release the all that has been accumulated in our emotions, mind and energy ; the good the bad and the ugly!. The release on full moon then allows for new energies to enter in our energetic field.
Since our bodies are made predominantly with the element of water..which is also the main element of the Moon. Just like the full Moons are related to High tides on oceanic/ river beds- pulling them higher and closer to itself we can expect that energy to affect our emotional waters the same way, making them rise to the surface. This is usually what we can experience as a burst of emotions. This is how the different phases of the moon have a great impact on how we behave and think.
Samhain is a pagan religious festival originating from an ancient Celtic spiritual tradition. In modern times, Samhain (a Gaelic word pronounced “sow-win”) is usually celebrated from October 31 to November 1 to welcome in the harvest and usher in “the dark half of the year. This full moon is in the Nakshatra of Bharani according to Vedic astrology, The goddess of the night, the main symbol is the feminine Yoni, and the lord is Yama- Yoni the birth canal through which there is the birth after the death of the old. Understood as the birthing of the new age -a new manifestation and a new period in our lives. The Halloween night of the Samhain is celebrated across the globe as a night in which veil between the spirit world and the physical world is the thinnest, allowing us to send our gratitude to the ancestral realms and accepting their blessings.
I wish you all a beautiful beginning of a new cycle.
Much love and gratitude xo.
