How to build a skincare routine?

When coming to skincare, remember your DNA is not everything.

There are other factors which play a major role in beautiful skin like your daily habits. When I say daily habits it doesn’t mean spending a fortune on skincare products to achieve a good complexion.

A recent study ‘Skincare Bootcamp: The Evolving Role of Skincare’ has found that daily skincare routines potentially can have a significant long-term impact on the overall quality of a person’s complexion.

So, what are the basic skincare needs? The basic skincare needs are Protection, prevention, cleansing, and moisturizing.

We remember to carry our sunscreen while on a beach vacation. But most of the sun damage results usually are from everyday, incidental ultraviolet exposure than occasional bursts while on travel. The most effective sunscreen that is used are zinc oxide or avobenzone.

So, here is the first active step you have to start practicing to have a good skincare routine. Sunscreen should always be a mandatory final step of every at-home skincare program. Use an organic sunscreen whenever you step out of the home.

For cleansing skin, a 100 percent cotton clean washcloth and a mild cleanser is all you need.

Another important factor is moisturizing your skin. The main purpose of moisturizer is to hydrate the skin and leave your skin feeling soft to the touch. Choose a time of convenience like morning or afternoon. Also pick a moisturizer based on your skin type.

Skincare is something that needs time. Results are seen only if you are consistent.
