How to obtain good night sleep?
We all are stressed for various reasons. And many times we may not be required to be on stress medication to destress ourselves. Let’s begin simple. What exactly is stress? Any intrinsic or extrinsic stimulus that evokes a biological response is known as stress. The compensatory responses to these stresses are known as stress responses. Based on the type, timing and severity of the applied stimulus, stress can exert various actions on the body ranging from alterations in homeostasis to life-threatening effects and death. Stress and other factors can often lead to disturbed sleep.
In this article I am trying to explain natural ways to have a good night's sleep.
Aromatherapy for healing Mind -
Certain essential oils can trigger physical or emotional effects on their own. For instance, lavender is a widely known calming agent, whereas peppermint is a mood lifter.
Another essential oil for mental wellness is chamomile. Chamomile is a powerful calming agent, as well as antibiotic, antiseptic, antidepressant and overall mood lifter.
Aromatherapy can stimulate the activities of the brain.
Aromatherapy can help heal anxiety, postnatal depression, Mental fatigue, low self-esteem etc.
It can also be used in insomnia and other sleep disturbances.
How can you use aromatherapy for insomnia?
Lavender can be put on a pillow to be inhaled during the night or combined with other oils and used for massage, as it is easily absorbed by the skin.
Rub a few drops on certain parts of your body such as your chest, wrist, neck, forehead, hands, or feet.

2. Have dinner at least 3 hours before bed.Eat light dinner, easily digestible food. Having a cup of warm milk, with a pinch of ground cardamom or nutmeg before bed helps.
3. Oil massage can help to induce a good sleep followed by bathing in Lukewarm water. Ksheerabala Thaila, Brahmi Oil, Balashwagandhadi are good for inducing sleep. Consult an Ayurveda Doctor before using these oils.
4.Limit screen time before bed.
5. Make sure the bed spreads, pillows and covers are light in color. Shades of Lavender are good for inducing sleep.
6. Play soothing music and make the room dark.
7. Avoid sleep during day time.
8. Also Ayurveda says an increase in Kapha Dosha increases sleep. So as a general rule increase sweet taste intake which increases the Kapha in the body and decrease intake of spicy foods.
